Before giving a winter tree ID walk in Lone Fir Cemetery in Southeast Portland, I noticed THE Lone Fir the in the northwest corner. It is a Douglas fir, Pseudotsuga menziesii, and is a Portland Heritage Tree. The cemetery boasts a diverse selection of trees; some of the species are mapped here:
