Calypso orchids in plenty

This is just one of hundreds of calypso orchids (Calypso bulbosa) that I counted on a hike in the Columbia Gorge. They are usually found in the cool understory and in a large elevation range, during the summer months. To me they are an indicator of a healthy forest habitat.
