Autumn in Costa Rica

These are some of the largest deciduous leaves I have ever seen! The photo was taken last October in Costa Rica during a tour of a wildlife refuge. Other pecularities of the day included witnessing sap "bleed" from a rubber tree, the largest fern frond I have seen in my life (it was larger than many of the tree ferns I've seen in New Zealand), and cacao pronounced 'couh-cow', which produces seeds that we make into chocolate! Look for pictures of Theobroma cacao. I will see if I can dig some out from my trip.
